wow, it's been a long time...

  • Mood: Confused
  • Listening to: some new french stuff
  • Watching: just finished get smart- so funny!
  • Eating: cereal
so long since i've logged onto DA that i've forgotten how much i enjoy looking at all the amazing artwork that is here. but i've finally come back, with hundreds of deviations to go through, which is actually awesome.
unfortunately, i have not drawn anything in a long time. i think this will change after browsing through some of the great art, however. i'm not sure what my next endeavor will be, but hopefully i will start something soon!
5 weeks left of summer, and i truly am counting down the days until i can go back to oregon and all my terrific friends there. not to mention the parents often drive me crazy! ;)

back in the cold/selling art?

  • Mood: Happy
  • Listening to: roomie's music
  • Watching: heroes- just started, so good!
  • Drinking: cherry italian soda
yes, it is freezing here in oregon, literally. but it's nice to be back- oddly enough, i guess i've come to consider it my home.

anyway, i'm in the second week of classes now, and i'm actually really happy with my courses this semester. i'm taking french, women and gender in medieval europe, philosophy, and an art history class on da vinci. as of now, french is probably my least favorite simply because it's not that interesting. i mean, i like the language, and plan on becoming fluent, but comparatively, it's just not exciting. in contrast, my women and gender and philosophy classes are both fascinating, and in my art history class i'm finally learning to appreciate the art of that time period.

last semester i attempted, unsuccessfully, to start swimming on a regular basis, and this semester i think i've finally done that. :excited: i didn't realize how much i missed swimming, and now that i've gotten into a routine of going, it will be easier for me to continue.

on another note, i've been thinking about selling some of my art. everything i've finished is in my gallery here. if anyone's interested, just send me a note. i've found that i'm not as attached to as many things as i used to be. so it's just taking up space! :)

happy 2008!

i know i've been awful about updating. wow, looking back i only did 2 journal entries for 2007! oh well, at least it'll be an easy number to surpass in 2008 :)
i hope everyone has made it through 2007 alright and in one piece and is looking forward to the start of a new year :excited:

i can't believe i've completed a semester of college now- it still seems weird to me that i'm no longer in high school, have moved to a new state, and have a completely different life. the last few months have been scary, exciting, and awesome, and i'm really loving college.
surprisingly, i've still had lots of free time and have been continuing my drawings. of course there's never enough time for all the ideas ;) i've got so many things i want to do- the hard part is picking which will come next! also on the agenda are a new i.d. and avatar, which i know i am in desperate need of- soon to come!

right now i'm enjoying the last few days of my winter break before the spring semester starts and i'm back in rainy oregon. :D trying to fit in as many people as possible, and it just seems like there's all these little chores that are piling up! i'm trying not to think about everything i still need to do and staying relaxed.

despite returning to classes and homework, i am looking forward to going back to school. i think this is a sign that i am fully adjusted and truly enjoying myself, probably more than i'd imagined. now i don't know how i'll make it through an entire summer at home, without people constantly around and rooms to wander into at 3am! ^^;

long past due update

  • Eating: salt and vinegar chips- yum!
  • Drinking: gatorade- fruit punch
hey everyone :)
it's been way too long since i've done a journal entry- even if no one reads them! lol
well, part of this is because i've just graduated high school and moved to oregon to start college at willamette university. and also i've just been lazy!
so, lots has been going on with adjusting to college life. it's good so far, but there've been hard times, too, and more to come! it's difficult being so far away from friends and family, but i'm enjoying being more independent. i love my classes and got really lucky with my schedule (no getting up for 8:00 class!).
umm... in the art department i did absolutely nothing during summer! but i am starting to draw a bit more now. i just finished a quick portrait- smell the roses- and am going to start another, more classic, looking drawing. unfortunately, i think i left my sepia-colored pencil at home, so i'm waiting till i can get a new one. :(
i'm finally caught up on all the deviations and journal entries, and i can't believe how many new deviants i'm finding to love- it's great. thanks so much everyone for sharing your amazing work.

more to come

Tue Apr 24, 2007, 9:35 PM

i can't believe my last journal entry was in september! well, this year's been kinda crazy- i'm graduating high school in less than two months, so i've been really busy with college stuff and keeping up in all my AP classes! plus, i've got my last swim meet ever coming up followed by league finals, so practice is keeping me tired as well!

anyway, i've finally gotten around to submitting some stuff, though i'm not sure what'll be up next. i'm kinda in between projects right now, deciding what to work on next...

i'm slowly working my way through deviations and jounals, and i'll try to write more soon and keep updated!
